David J. Graham, age 84 of Mankato and formerly of Good Thunder, died Saturday, November 30, 2013 at Pathstone Living with his family by his side.
Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church with Rev. John Kunz officiating. A visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday and continue until the time of the service. Private family burial at a later date. Mankato Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Pathstone Living Center, Hospice, or donor's choice.
David was born June 21, 1929 to Lewis and Beula (Smith) Graham in Northfield, MN. His family moved to Good Thunder when he was a young boy. After graduating from the Good Thunder High School, he attended the Mankato Teachers College. In 1951, he was sent with his Mankato Guard Unit to Camp Rucker, where he was stationed until November of 1952. For several years he was in the soft water business in Mankato until 1968, when he started work as a salesman at the local Sears store. He retired in 1988. He was united in marriage to Rosemary Klang in Long Prairie, MN on August 19, 1961. They lived in the Good Thunder area for 26 years before moving to North Mankato in 1988. David was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, and the American Legion.
David is survived by his wife, Rosemary; children, Jean (Mark) Jansen of Johnston, Iowa, Jim Graham of Vernon Center, Mike (Ann) Graham of Maiden Rock, Wisconsin, Paul (Lisa) Graham of New Prague, and John (Jackie) Graham of Lake Crystal; 16 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; brother Neal (Eileen) Graham of Rochester; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Elizabeth (Wayne) Saunders; and his mother and father-in-law.
