Rose Marie "Abe" Abram, age 72, of Mankato, died peacefully on Saturday, May 25, 2013, at her home in Mankato.
Memorial Service will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 1, 2013, at First Congregational U.C.C. in Mankato. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. on Friday at Northview - North Mankato Mortuary, 2060 Commerce Drive, and continues one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Interment will be in Woodland Hills Memorial Park in Mankato. Memorials may be given to South Central Minnesota Pride or the Mankato Summit Center.
Abe was born on April 27, 1941, in Minneapolis. She was the daughter of Guy and Elizabeth (McGuire) Abram. Abe was a graduate of St. Margaret Academy in Minneapolis and received an Associate's Degree from Mankato State University. She was united in marriage to Dean Wimmergren in August of 1959. They later divorced in 1983.
Abe was a member of First Congregational U.C.C. in Mankato. She enjoyed reading, singing in choirs, organizing social events for family and friends, and served on many committees.
Abe is survived by her partner, Carol Hesse of Mankato; children, Mark (Mary Brennan) Wimmergren of Big Lake, William (Nyra) Wimmergren of St. Michael, and Jennifer Wimmergren and her special friend, Steven Diener of Nicollet; eleven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; daughter-in-law, Eileen Wimmergren of Maple Grove; sister, Mary Jo Kroohn of Crystal; brothers, Kevin (Ellen) Abram and Patrick (Linda) Abram, all of Plymouth; also many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sons, Michael John Wimmergren and David Paul Wimmergren; grandson, Dylan Diener; brothers, Guy John Abram and Eugene Abram; sister, Theresa Abram.
