Mary Ellen Veroeven, age 86 of Mankato, died Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at Hillcrest Health Care Center.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 18, 2013 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Lake Crystal with Rev. John Wilmot, officiating. A visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday at the church and continue until the time of the service. Burial will be in Calvary " All Saints Cemetery in Madison Lake. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to MRCI and the Salvation Army. Mankato Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Mary was born on May 6, 1927 to Michael and Kathryn (McGlynn) Muldoon. She was united in marriage to Francis Veroeven on April 6, 1948 at All Saints Catholic Church in Madison Lake. They lived on farms in rural Mankato, until they purchased the farm where she lived until her death. Mary was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, Lake Crystal. She was also a member of the Moose Club, Ladies Auxiliary Morson Ario, Eagles Ladies Auxiliary, American Legion Club, and Solo and Singles Club. She enjoyed gardening, dancing, traveling, and having lunch with her Birthday Club friends.
Mary is survived by her children, Kathryn (Dean) Kelley, James Veroeven, Duane Veroeven, and Richard Veroeven; five grandchildren, Kristine (Mark) Streit, Doug (Nicole) Kelley, Susan (Scott) Saro, Ron (Kaela Krebs) Kelley, Julie (Jay Christenson) Kelley; thirteen great-grandchildren, David, Dyana, Deann, Brittany, Andrea, Jackie, Katie, Justin, Jo Jo, Miah, Mason, Vaughn and Ashlyn; brother, Patrick (Beverly) Muldoon; two sisters, Winn Clemons and Theresa Denn; brother-in-law, Clem Haefner; and many nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Francis in 1989; two sisters, Esther and Ann; one brother, John; and three brothers-in-law.
