Gerald Charles Wagner, age 96, of Mankato died Monday, April 22, 2013 at Laurel's Peak in Mankato.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Mankato. Visitation will be held one hour before service at the church on Wednesday. Burial with military honors will be in Calvary Cemetery, Mankato. Mankato Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Gerald was born November 12, 1916 to Aloyous W. and Laura M. (Dauber) Wagner in Mankato. He graduated from Loyola High School in 1934. Gerald served his country during World War II with the U.S. Army from 1942-45 in New Guinea and the Philippines. Gerald was united in marriage to Dolores M. Broecher on October 6, 1951 in Mankato. Gerald was employed by Northland Beverage (Wispak) of North Mankato for 31 years before retiring. He was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Gerald enjoyed playing and watching baseball and bowling.
Gerald is survived by his wife, Dolores of Mankato; daughter, Patricia Wovcha of Mankato; three grandchildren, Prudence Benson of Kingman, AZ, Eleanor (Steven) Goode of Glouster, VA, and Gerald (McKenzie Mahoney) Wovcha of Madison Lake; nine great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Gerald was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Warren Wagner and Robert Wagner; sister, Donna Marie Wagner.
