Carol Jean Peterson, age 74, of North Mankato, passed away into eternity on Saturday, August 3, 2013 at the Belle Plaine Lutheran Home.

A Memorial Service Celebrating Carol's Life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 7, 2013 at Belgrade Avenue United Methodist Church, North Mankato with Pastor Dan Horn, officiating. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m., Tuesday at Northview - North Mankato Mortuary, 2060 Commerce Drive, North Mankato and will continue one hour before service at the church on Wednesday. Family burial will be in Woodville Cemetery, Waseca. Memorials may be given to the Alzheimer's Association or the Belle Plaine Lutheran Home.

Carol was born June 12, 1939 to Lloyd H. and Mildred A. (Anderson) Drews in Owatonna. She graduated from Waseca High School in 1957. Carol was united in marriage to Marlyn J. Peterson on July 29, 1961 at Grace Lutheran Church in Waseca. They moved to North Mankato in 1964. Carol worked as a Medical Technician for Dr. Stillwell, Dr. Florine, and later Dr. Hamse. Carol was a member of the Belgrade Avenue United Methodist Church, where she was past president of the United Methodist Women's Society, past Sunday School Superintendent, a member of the Ruth Circle, and was a member of the church choir. She enjoyed playing cards, baking, cooking, family vacations, traveling to Alaska, Hawaii, Denmark, Sweden, Branson, MO, Caribbean Cruises, and spending summers at Alexandria, MN.

Carol is survived by her husband, Marlyn "Pete" of North Mankato; son, Gregg Peterson (Billy Kudrle) of Golden Valley; daughter, Kelly Nelson (Tony); three sisters, Connie Frederick (Gary) of Denmark, WI, Fayeann Dorn (Jerry Billings) and Vicki Gleason of Waterville, sister-in-law, Janet Drews of Albert Lea; two brothers-in-law, Charles Peterson (Sandy) of Princeton and George Hart of Aitkin; great aunt, Dena Bailey of Mankato; great uncle, Kenneth Anderson of Waseca; several nephews; nieces; and cousins.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd and Mildred; brother, Roger Drews; brother-in-law, Robert Gleason; sister-in-law, Janice Hart.
