Carol Ann Guentzel Boyer, age 72, of Mankato, died Sunday, July 28, 2013, at her home.

Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 2, 2013, at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Private family interment will be at Calvary Cemetery in Mankato. Mankato Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Carol was born on September 6, 1940, in Mankato to Frank and Marie (Hiniker) Guentzel. She graduated from Loyola High School. Carol was united in marriage to Larry Boyer. They later divorced. Carol was employed for a short while at Valley News in Mankato, attended Cosmetology School, and also worked at Wornson Dental Lab. She retired from Taylor Corporation after 27 years of employment. Carol was a member of SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church. She enjoyed playing cards, knitting, and cooking and baking.

Carol is survived by two sisters, Fran (Dick) Renne of North Mankato and Eileen "Sue" (Jim) Brozik of Mankato; two brothers, James Guentzel and Henry (Dorothy) Guentzel all of Mankato; sister-in-law, Marilou Guentzel of Cleveland; and many nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Forrest, Robert, and George; and one sister, Shirley (Peter) Braam.
