Dean Ty Saiki of Mankato, Minnesota died July 27, 2013 surrounded by his beloved family. Born in Mankato October 4, 1943, the son of Sue Saiki and the late Ty Saiki, Dean was eldest of four siblings. After graduating Mankato High School in 1961, he served in the U.S. Army Artillery 4th Infantry Division in Vietnam from 1968 to 1969, and was honorably discharged in 1973.

Dean was a gifted and skilled automobile mechanic, co-owner of ABC Champlin, and owner of ABC Auto.

Graced with cherished memories are his mother, Sue Saiki; brothers, Joel and Kirk; sister, Hope; three nephews, Ty, Zac, and Kameron; three nieces, Meredith, Klarissa, and Alexandra; two grand nieces; and a devoted circle of authentic friends.

Deepest gratitude for Dean compassionate and dignified care to the staff of the Minneapolis VA Medical Center, especially Dr. Peter Duane; Gary Evenson of Blue Earth County Veterans Services; the staff of Mankato Mayo Clinic Health System; and the staff of Oaklawn Health Care Center.

Private family memorial and burial will be officiated by Mike Milbrath. Remembrances in lieu of flowers may be sent to Mankato Mayo Clinic Health System Hospice or donor choice.

As a tribute to Deans lifetime of generosity, please impart an act of kindness to someone in need.
