Jeanette M. Ziegler, age 75, of rural Mankato died Sunday, July 21, 2013 at her home.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Mankato with Rev. Ted Hottinger S.J., officiating. Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m., Tuesday (TODAY) with a 3:45 p.m. rosary at Northview-North Mankato Mortuary, 2060 Commerce Drive, North Mankato and will continue one hour before service at the church on Wednesday. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Mankato. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to SS. Peter and Paul " St. Cecilia Choir or the donor's choice.

Jeanette was born January 27, 1938 to Jesse W. and Carol (Fagerlie) Flury in Fargo, North Dakota. She graduated from Detroit Lakes High School in 1956 where she was active in band, choir, and drama. She then graduated from Gustavus Adolphus College, St. Peter in 1960 with a B.S. degree in Social Work and Biology. She then attended Wayne State University in Detroit, MI from 1963-64 and received her Master Degree in Social Work from the University of Minnesota in 1966. Jeanette was united in marriage to Sylvester "Ken" Ziegler on June 26, 1964 at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Mankato. She worked for Blue Earth County Social Service from 1966 until her retirement in 1998.

She was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, where she sang in the church choir and was a "Dingaling" in the Bell Choir. She was also a member of German Club, German Ladies Card Club, German Bohemian Heritage Singers of New Ulm, and the LeSueur County Pioneer Power. She volunteered as a teacher's aide, story teller at the library, and at the Broom Shop at Pioneer Power.

Jeanette is survived by her husband, Ken Ziegler of rural Mankato; two children, Paul Ziegler (Barb Michels) of Mankato and Annie (Eric) Legg of rural Lake Crystal; granddaughter, Clara Jo Legg; sister, Marilyn Collins of Oklahoma; nieces and nephews, David Dewane, Sarah Heller, Jeff Collins, Steve Collins, Colleen Gunn, Pat Foley, Rick Foley, Karin Jahnke, and Jill Weber and extended family.

Jeanette was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Lillian (Joe) Dewane and JoAnne (Dick) Foley.
