A. David Asleson, age 77, of Madison Lake, died on Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 15, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Christ the King Lutheran Church with Pastor John Petersen officiating. Visitation will be on Sunday from 2-5 p.m. at Mankato Mortuary and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at the Butternut Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to Christ the King Lutheran Church or the donor's choice.

A. David Asleson was born on July 23, 1935 in New Ulm to Arnold and Selma (Christenson) Asleson. He graduated from the Madelia High School in 1953. Dave served in the United States Army from 1955-1957. Dave was united in marriage to Thelma Thorstad. He received a degree in Architecture from the University of Minnesota. He worked at Cone-Peterson Architects while going to school and then worked for Ellerbe Architects in the Twin Cities. Dave and Thelma moved to Madison Lake and he worked for Cheever-Asleson Architects, which merged and became KSPA. He retired in 2000. Dave loved building houses, wood carving, and housing projects. His last project was the building of his home on Lake Ballentyne. He enjoyed spending time with his extended family and friends sitting out by the lake. He had a great time visiting his daughter Kelly and son-in-law Bryan in Italy and Germany. Dave was a member of Christ the King and served on the church council and was an usher.

Dave is survived by his wife, Thelma of Madison Lake; daughter, Kelly (Bryan) Ball of Carlton, MN; brother, Allan (Ginny) Asleson of Madison Lake; sister, Sharon (Lowell) Kutches of Andover; sister-in-law, Dorothy Asleson; step-sister, Eda (Ralph) Engles; step-brother, Myron (Marie) Thorstad; and many nieces and nephews and their families. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Arden, infant sister, and step-father, Lonnie Thorstad.
