Douglas "Doug" L. Davis, age 64, of North Mankato, died Saturday, June 8, 2013 in a boating accident while fishing on Lake Manion, Ontario, Canada.

A Celebration of Doug's Life will be held from 1-3 p.m., Friday, June 14, 2013 at Northview - North Mankato Mortuary, 2060 Commerce Drive, North Mankato. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to BENCHS.

Doug was born November 7, 1948 to Willard W. and Leda A. (Anderson) Davis in Mankato. He graduated from Lake Crystal High School in 1966. Doug served with the U.S. Army and was stationed at Ft. Leonard Wood and then served in Korea as a heavy equipment operator. In 1971, he married Cheryl (Trudeau) Pettersen of Lake Crystal; they were later divorced. He married Candy Weisgram on May 25, 2001 in St. Peter. Doug worked for CHS, formerly Honeymead and Harvest States, for 41 years, 7 months, 20 days, before retiring. Doug was a member of the North Mankato Volunteer Fire Department for 13 years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, nature, history, reading, walks at 7 Mile Creek, and his cats.

Doug is survived by his wife, Candy; four daughters, Sara (John) Nelson of North Mankato, Emily (Dennis) Rudie of rural Lake Crystal, Amanda (Scott) Bohlke of Mankato, and Lindsey (Mike) Kuntz of Port Byron, IL; grandchildren, Katherine and Marit Nelson, Benjamin Rudie, Nicholas and Brynn Bohlke, and Simon Kuntz; two brothers, Michael "Mick" (Laurel) Davis of rural Lake Crystal, John (Connie) Davis of Nevis; nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Doug was preceded in death by his mother, Leda, in September 1999, and father, Willard, in April of 2005.
