Sister M. Catherinette Zweber, School Sister of Notre Dame, age 69, died July 23, 2006, at Good Counsel Convent, Mankato, Minnesota. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday at Good Counsel Chapel, with Fr. Don Rauscher, S.J., as celebrant. Visitation is from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday at Good Counsel, with Vespers in the chapel at 7:00 p.m. Visitation is also one hour prior to the funeral on Wednesday. Mankato Mortuary is in charge.
Sister M. Catherinette (Harriet Zweber) was born in Carson, North Dakota, on February 23, 1937, to Henry and Kathryn (Wiest) Zweber. She entered the School Sisters of Notre Dame in Mankato in 1955 and took First Vows in 1957. With the exception of one year in Spokane, Washington, she spent her years of ministry in Minnesota, principally at the Motherhouse where she did domestic work in various departments. These included the kitchen, laundry, bakery, boarders dining room, sewing department, and host-baking. She worked in the ceramics department and for some years she served as province photographer and she served in health care as nurses aide and in physical therapy. Before retiring in 2004, she was receptionist for Olson Family Chiropractic in Eagle Lake from 1995 to 2003.
Sister Catherinette is survived by her sister Helen Krismer of Burlington, Wisconsin. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Henrietta Taspinar.
