Sister Ann Ganley, School Sister of Notre Dame, age 70, died at her home in St. Paul on June 5, 2006. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, June 9, at Good Counsel Chapel, with Archbishop Harry Flynn, Archbishop of St. Paul-Minneapolis, as celebrant. Visitation will be one hour before the Mass.

Sister Ann (Ann Ganley) was born in Boston, Massachusetts, on December 15, 1935, to Thomas and Mary Josephine (Regan) Ganley. She entered the School Sisters of Notre Dame in Baltimore, Maryland, in 1953 and took first Vows in 1955. She was a teacher and administrator for 42 years in elementary and secondary schools in Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, and Minnesota. In Minnesota she was principal at St. Theresa School in Deephaven for five years. For the past eight years she served as the Special Assistant to Archbishop Harry J. Flynn of the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis.

Over those years, Sister Ann earned a B.S degree in Education and an M.S. in History and Education from Seton Hall University in New Jersey. From Fordham University, New York, she earned a Certification in Administration. She attended the University of Minnesota where she took courses in Women Studies.

Sister Ann was preceded in death by her parents, a sister and three brothers. She is survived by her sister, Marguerite Meade, and her brothers, John and Harry Ganley.
