Glapha Albirta Mussett, of Mankato, MN, formerly of Waterloo, IA, died Sunday, November 14, 2010 at Immanuel St. Joseph's Hospital in Mankato.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday, November 19, 2010 at the Garden of Memories Mausoleum Chapel in Waterloo, IA. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, November 17, 2010 at Mankato Mortuary and continue one hour prior to the service at the chapel in Waterloo. Burial will be in the Garden of Memories Cemetery, Waterloo. Memorials are preferred to the 1st Congregational Church of Christ in Mankato, American Cancer Society or to donor's choice.

Glapha was born January 8, 1908 in Waterloo, IA to Earl and Amelia (Bender) Kern. She was united in marriage to Robert C. Mussett on January 8, 1925. While in Waterloo, Glapha was an active member at First Presbyterian Church. Robert died in 1966 and she moved to Mankato in 1968 and became a member at 1st Congregational UCC. Glapha loved to cook, bake, sew and garden. She was a terrific housewife, mother and grandmother.

Glapha is survived by two children, Earl Mussett of Minden, NV; Lois Mussett of Mankato; grandchildren, Bob Van Fleet of Ft. Meyers, FL; Doug Van Fleet of Hudson, IA; Teri Trasamar of Waterloo, IA; Sandy Salisbury of Olympia, WA; Scott Mussett of Saudi Arabia; Debbie Alegrete of Mission Hills, CA; 10 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

Glapha was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; parents, Earl and Amelia; daughter, Roberta Van Fleet; great-grandson, Joshua Salisbury; sister and brother in law, Edna and Lewis Phillips; granddaughter, Jeri Van Fleet; brother and sister in law, Clarence and Fern Kern.
