Duane Curtis Erickson, age 64 of Lake Crystal, died Monday, November 8, 2010 at his home in Lake Crystal.

Private graveside service will be held in Lake Crystal Cemetery. Lake Crystal Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Duane was born May 13, 1946 in Mankato to Curtis and Doreen (Moon) Erickson. He was united in marriage to Val Knaak in Mankato on December 31, 1992. Duane worked for the City of Lake Crystal for 30 years and also for Gary's body shop where he painted cars. He loved to tease his family, especially the grandchildren. Duane enjoyed playing cards, driving the streets of Lake Crystal, and had a great passion for cars, trucks, and music, especially "The Oldies."

Duane is survived by his wife, Val of Lake Crystal; three children, Jeff (Julie) Erickson of Vernon Center; Angie (Randy) Rustman of Lake Crystal; Nikki Fredericksen of Lake Crystal; two step children, Jenny Knaak and Mike Glasser of Las Vegas; Jody (Tom) Brown of Montgomery; five grandchildren; Chelsey Rustman, Bailey Rustman, Kayla Fredericksen, Kasey Fredericksen, Dylan Erickson; step-mother, Rosemary Erickson of Lake Crystal; sister; Alene Pettersen of Lake Crystal; two brothers, Merrill (Bev) Moon of Tucson, AZ and Darrell (Betty) Moon of Tucson, AZ; brother-in-law, Walt Lilly; two sisters-in-law, Kathy Erickson and Ronnie Moon; and extended family and friends.

Duane was preceded in death by his parents, Curtis and Doreen; grandparents, Dick and Flossie Moon; brothers, Paul Erickson, Bob Erickson, Edward Moon, Wilford Moon, Don Moon, Alden Moon; sisters, Gloria Lilly and Marlene Sorgatz; and grandson, Noah John Fredericksen.
