Lucile Arlie Marben, age 98, of Lake Crystal, died Thursday, March 27, 2014 at Crystal Seasons in Lake Crystal.

A Memorial Visitation will be held from 2-4 p.m., Saturday, April 5, 2014 at Zion Lutheran Church, Lake Crystal. A Private family service will be held at Zion Lutheran with burial in Lake Crystal Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the Zion Lutheran Church Building Fund. Lake Crystal Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Lucile was born July 12, 1915 the oldest of four children to Arthur and Lillian (Nelson) Halland in Storden, Minnesota. She was baptized and confirmed at Old Westbrook Lutheran Church. She grew up in rural Storden, attended country school and graduated from Windom High School in 1933. Lucile was employed as a beautician prior to her marriage on March 2, 1940 to John W. Marben in Lamberton. They resided in Lamberton until 1947, moving to Lake Crystal when John purchased The Lake Crystal Tribune.

Lucile was a homemaker, a lifelong member of Zion Lutheran Church in Lake Crystal, and active in ZLCW becoming an honorary member. She was also involved in the American Legion Auxiliary and an avid Twins fan. Lucile was especially proud of her Norwegian heritage. Her priority in life was her family, a loving Grandma Lu to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her life has been a blessing to us all.

Lucile is survived by her loving husband of 74 years, John; three children, Sandra (Dean) Meixell of Lake Crystal, Don (Judy) Marben of Lake Crystal and David (Sandi) Marben of Cascade, ID; nine grandchildren, Lance (Heidi) Roberts, Lara (Jerry) Wisniewski, Tammy (Dave) Matteson, Tracy (Joe) Loreth, Ryan (Rachel) Marben, Mindy (Andy) Kranz, Mitch Marben (Michelle Holt), Lucas and Cole Marben; one step-grandchild, Doug (Lori) Meixell; fourteen great-grandchildren, Derek and Sydney Roberts, Makena, Abbey, Will, and Jake Wisniewski, Isabelle and Michael Matteson, Taylor and Justin Loreth, Skylar, Grace, and Sam Kranz, Brian Marben; four step great-grandchildren, Soonja Breist, Katrina Wolters, and Nate and Nick Meixell; sister, Maxine (Keith) Miller of Mankato; and many nieces and nephews.

Lucile was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Lillian; two brothers and their wives, Burton and Beulah Halland and Robert and Olga Halland; and son-in-law, James (Sandra) Roberts.
