Gloria Jean Luiken, age 66, of Mankato, died Monday, March 24, 2014, at her home after a 13 year battle with Huntington's disease.

Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, March 28, 2014, at Northview " North Mankato Mortuary, with Rev. Roger Luiken officiating. Interment will be in Lake Crystal Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. on Thursday at Northview, and continues one hour prior to the service on Friday.

Gloria was born on October 23, 1947, in Mankato. She was the daughter of Donald and Betty (Watts) Swedberg. Gloria was a 1965 graduate of Lake Crystal High School and attended Mankato State University. She was united in marriage to Steven Luiken on August 26, 1966, in Lake Crystal. Gloria was employed for 34 years at Minnesota State University " Mankato. She was a member of Crossview Covenant Church in North Mankato. Gloria enjoyed shopping and spending time with her grandchildren.

Gloria is survived by her husband, Steven of Mankato; three children, Shannon (Ron) Wolke of North Mankato, Michelle Shelton and special friend, Mark Pentico of Mankato, and Ryan (Amber) Luiken of Dayton, OH; eight grandchildren, Zachary, Kyle, and Hanna Wolke, Travis, Taylor, Morgan, and Emma Shelton, and Noah Luiken; one sister, Karen (Mike) Santori of West St. Paul; one brother, Gary (Karen) Swedberg of Lake Crystal; and also many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Debra.
