Colleen Ann Roder, age 62, of rural St. Peter, died Sunday, March 23, 2014 at Mayo Clinic Health System " Mankato.

A Celebration of Coc's Life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 5, 2014 at Northview - North Mankato Mortuary, 2060 Commerce Drive, North Mankato. Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m., Friday at Northview " North Mankato Mortuary and will continue one hour before service at Northview on Saturday.

Colleen was born July 31, 1951 to Donald R. and Letitia R. "Bonnie" (Campbell) Campbell in Mankato. She graduated from Lake Crystal High School in 1969 and from Winona State College in 1973 with a degree in nursing. During college, Coc worked as a camp nurse at Camp Mekahga and a nature counselor at Camp Manakiki where she met her future husband. She was united in marriage to David E. Roder on October 2, 1976 at her parent's farm in rural Lake Crystal. She was employed as a psychiatric nurse at St. Luke's Hospital, Duluth and later as Senior Public Health Nurse for Meeker County. On August 26, 1978 Coc and Dave were hit by a drunk driver while in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. During the accident, Coc sustained injuries resulting in quadriplegia. Despite the physical challenges she faced, Coc was involved in many community activities. For her 50th birthday party she organized a group of family and friends to assist in building the 1st Habitat for Humanity House in Lake Crystal. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Lake Crystal. She enjoyed gardening, reading and watching her nieces and nephews participate in their various activities such as LCWM wrestling and Gopher Softball. Coc also had a special place in her heart for all her furry and feathered friends, especially her dogs, cats, birds and deer.

Coc is survived by her husband, Dave of rural St. Peter; two siblings, Donald D. (Susan) Campbell of Lake Crystal and Kay (Ken) Midthun of Gilbert, AZ; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Diana and John MacDiarmid of Zephyrhills, FL; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Anita Roder of Zephyrhills, FL, Paul (fianc"e, Shelly Yanke) Roder of Richfield, Mark (Sue) Roder of Hanover, MN, and Pam (Lyndon) Husen of Jacksonville, FL; many nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Coc was preceded in death by her father, Donald (2004) and her father-in-law, Raymond Roder (1999), followed in death by her mother, Bonnie Campbell (2014).

Memorials may be given to the University of Minnesota Landscape Arboretum or Camp Shetek Chapel Project.
