Loretta Hintze, age 96 of Mankato and formerly of Eagle Lake died, Friday, March 21, 2014 at Autumn Grace Senior Services.

Funeral Service will be at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at the Mankato Mortuary, with Rev. Octavio Cortez officiating. A visitation will be from 4 " 7 p.m., Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at Mankato Mortuary with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m. and will continue one hour before the service. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery in Mankato. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Autumn Grace Senior Services.

Loretta was born August 5, 1917 to Arthur and Philomena (Schramm) Teynor in New Ulm. She was united in marriage to Harlan Hintze on January 28, 1950. They moved to Eagle Lake in 1954, where she operated a beauty shop out of her home for many years. She was a member of the Eagle Lake American Legion Auxiliary #617. Loretta loved her time spent with her husband traveling, hunting, and fishing and the time spent with family, especially the grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Loretta is survived by her son, Robert T. (Monica) Hintze of Eagle Lake; daughter, Mariann Guentzel of Emily; five grandchildren, Tamie (Doug) Lorentz, Shelly Guentzel, Chris Hintze, Lisa (Jason) Hammond, and Lana Hintze; seven great-grandchildren, Andrew, Adam and Cody Lorentz, Alyssa, Kaylee, Anna and Carter Hammond; nephews, Richard (Joyce) Leither of St. Cloud, John (Debbie) Leither of Brooklyn Park; niece, Mary (Bob) Schaefer of Albany; and several great and great-great-nieces and nephews.
Loretta was preceded in death by her husband, Harlan in 2008; two grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Flora (Ed) Leither.
