Lyle E. Hodapp

Longtime Farmer, Lyle Hodapp, age 76 of Eagle Lake, died Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at Pathstone Living surrounded by his family.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, March 22, 2014 at All Saints Catholic Church in Madison Lake with Rev. Andy Olsem officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Madison Lake. Visitation will be held from 4 " 8 p.m. Friday, March 21, 2014 at All Saints Catholic Church and will continue one hour before the service at the church on Saturday. Mankato Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Lyle Edwin Hodapp was born September 4, 1937 at his home near Eagle Lake to Cletus and Helen (Reinhart) Hodapp. Lyle graduated from Mankato High School in 1955. He served his country in the US National Guard. He was united in marriage to Louise Frederick on September 2, 1961 at All Saints Catholic Church in Madison Lake. For over 30 years Lyle farmed the family farm near Eagle Lake and worked at various Mankato businesses. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in St. Clair.

He enjoyed his beloved pets: Skippy, Bucky, and Rufus, as well as attending his grandchildrens activities and events, leisure drives, garage sales, visiting, family history, woodworking and partying at the cabin up north.

Lyle is survived by his wife, Louise of Eagle Lake; three children, Sheila (Chris) Hoehn of Crosby, Shari (Ray) Lynch, and Rodney of Eagle Lake; seven grandchildren, Rhen (Kylin) Hoehn, Danielle (J.P.) Mahoehney, Isaac Hoehn, Andre Hoehn, Gretchen, Alexys, & Khryssa Hodapp; five step-grandchildren, Amy (Chris) Priem, Dawn Royer, Jason Royer, Staci (Brandon) Larson, Jessica Royer (Chad Grunwald); one great-grandchild, Blaise Hoehn; 6 great-step-grandchildren; brother, Gerald (Arlene) Hodapp of Mankato; sister, Rosemary Dummer of New Ulm; other extended family and friends.

Preceded in death by his parents and brother in law, Louis Dummer.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to MCHS Mankato Hospice, MCHS Waseca Hospice, BENCHS -Blue Earth Nicollet County Humane Society, or the donors choice.
