Thomas Fair Van Eaton, age 65, of Good Thunder, died Sunday, March 20, 2005 at his home.
Funeral service 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 23, 2005 at Mankato Mortuary Chapel with Rev. James Roe officiating. Interment in Glenwood Cemetery, Mankato. Visitation from 12 " 2 p.m. Wednesday at Mankato Mortuary.
Thomas was born July 15, 1939 to Anson and Amber (Stinson) Van Eaton in Iowa City, Iowa. He graduated from Mankato High School and attended Mankato State University for two years. He married Janet Goettlicher in January of 1961. They were married for 24 years before divorcing. Thomas was self employed as a roofer in home construction. He was a former member of Centenary United Methodist Church, a member and past president of ABATE " Rolling Prairie Chapter, and had served with the MN National Guard. He enjoyed motorcycling, traveling, wood working, crafts, and being outdoors.
Thomas is survived by two daughters, Michelle Van Eaton and her life partner, Kelly Douglas of Bridgeview, IL, Cyndi Morrison and her husband, Scott of North Mankato; two grandchildren, Elise and Lindsey Morrison; special friend and life partner, Lola Phelps of Good Thunder; aunt, Sara Stinson of Mankato; brothers and sisters-in-law; nieces, nephews, other family and friends. Thomas helped raise and was a vital part of the lives of Gregory Goettlicher of Good Thunder and Judy Stover of Waterville.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
