Charles Henry Warner, 96, of St. Clair, died Saturday, October 5, 2013 at Pathstone Living in Mankato.

Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 9 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in St. Clair with Pastor Matthew Grunewald officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery in St. Clair. Mankato Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Charlie was born in Cottonwood County, MN on February 15, 1917 to Albert and Ida (Enstad) Warner. At the age of 10, he moved with his family to Mankato where he graduated from Mankato High School in 1935. He went to work for C.J. Lusk driving a delivery truck. He eventually bought out the business and started Warner Delivery. He was drafted into the United States Army and was honorably discharged due to a medical condition. He then got a job working in Alaska and Canada building the Al-Can Highway. He returned to Mankato and worked for Judd Brown and Co. and Lundin Construction doing road construction. He also worked for Felber Transfer driving a freight truck. He was a member of the International Operating Engineers and Local 49er's Union.

On June 28, 1958, he married Alice Frank. They moved to St. Clair where they raised their family. He was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church where he served on the church council for many years. He enjoyed ice fishing, gardening, driving his car, and visiting with family and friends.

Charlie is survived by his son, Steven (Christa) Warner; daughter, Pamela Warner; grandsons, Benjamin and Lucas Warner all of North Mankato; sister, Margaret Walsvick of Mankato; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Alice; brothers, William, Peter, and James; and sisters, Thelma, Dorothy, and Vivian.
