Ann (Splinter) Anderson, age 62, of North Mankato, died Saturday, September 28, 2013 after a relatively short battle with kidney cancer. She remained confident in her faith and in God's greater plan for her.
Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, October 5, 2013 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in North Mankato, with Fr. Peter Nosbush officiating. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m., Friday, October 4, 2013 at Northview - North Mankato Mortuary, 2060 Commerce Drive, North Mankato. Burial will be in Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis at a later date.
Ann was born July 25, 1951, in New Prague, MN to Roger and Luella (Kessler) Bromaghim. She graduated from Belle Plaine High School in 1969. Ann graduated with a Marketing Education degree from South Central College in 1971, and later received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from Concordia University " St. Paul.
Ann was married to John Splinter, and although they later divorced, they remained friends and committed to the care of their daughter, Jessica. Ann was united in marriage to Robert (Bob) Anderson on July 3, 2009. Bob and Ann enjoyed traveling (both in their plane and commercially); they were scuba certified and often traveled to the Caribbean; they also enjoyed entertaining family and friends. Ann was an avid gardener, and enjoyed quilting and stained glass as her hobbies.
During her career, Ann served as the Marketing Director for Landkamer's Furniture, Madison East Center, and for the past 23 years, as the Marketing and Public Relations Director for South Central College. Ann was proud of her involvement in the community, serving as Greater Mankato Area Chamber Ambassador for over 25 years. She also served on the Board of Directors for the Mankato Area Foundation, the Holiday Sharing Tree, Mankato YWCA and was a member of the CCW at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Ann was proud to be honored by the YWCA in 2007, with their Woman of Distinction award.
She felt blessed to be survived by her loving family, including: husband, Bob; daughter, Jessica and her fianc", Donald Deisch II; beloved grandchildren, Asha and Donald Deisch III; stepsons, Jeremy Splinter and Ryan (Buffy) Anderson; her mother, Luella Bromaghim; brothers, Roger (Connie) Bromaghim and William (Kirsten) Bromaghim; sister, Jane Bromaghim (Bill Guse); as well as many nieces and nephews. Ann was preceded in death by her father, Roger Bromaghim in February of 2000.
Memorials are preferred to the South Central College Foundation, Mankato YWCA or the Mankato Area Foundation.
Please no flowers. Ann requested that you frequent her favorites (Drummers, Edenvale, Hilltop Florist, and Holy Rosary Mother's Day Weekend Plant Sale) and plant flowers this spring in your own garden in her memory.
