Clarence A. Bauer, age 88 of Mankato, died Friday September 20, 2013 surrounded by his family at Pathstone Living.

Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, September 26, 2013 at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Mankato with Rev. Ted Hottinger S.J. officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Mankato. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the church on Thursday. Mankato Mortuary in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be given to the donor's choice.

Clarence (CA) was born on October 17, 1924 to Frank A. and Ida (Tatge) Bauer in Mankato. He attended SS Peter and Paul grade school and graduated from Loyola High School in 1942.

He served in the US Navy from 1943 until 1946 in the Pacific theater where he attained the rank of Electrical Technician 4th Class Petty Officer.

On July 11, 1953, Clarence was united in marriage to Mary Pat Amberg. He was employed at Northwestern Bell Telephone Company for 43 " years as an electronics technician, retiring in 1991.

Clarence enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, fishing, and his computer. He took special pride in his building and remodeling skills.

Clarence is survived by his wife, Mary; daughters, Cindy (David) Cole and Lisa (Dave) Wolf; grandchildren, Josh (Jessica Spencer) Johnson, and Nate and Amber Wolf; great-grandchildren, Jayda and Joslyn Johnson; brother, Tony (Jan) Bauer; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Preceded in death by his parents, son Steven; two brothers; and one sister.
