Marie A. Brandrup, age 81, of Mankato, MN, passed away Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at Oak Terrace Assisted Living, in North Mankato.

Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Tuesday, September 10, 2013 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Mankato with the Rev. Jay Dahlvang officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the service. Interment will be at Glenwood Cemetery in Mankato. Mankato Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be given to Bethlehem Lutheran Church or Chapter U, P.E.O., (a philanthropic educational organization for women).

Marie was born to George and Edith Nickeson in Minneapolis, MN on July 5, 1932. She graduated from Central High School, Minneapolis in 1950, attended Minnesota School of Business and McConnell Airline and Modeling School, graduating in 1954. She was a model in the "Oval Room" at Dayton's Department Store of Minneapolis. Marie worked for The Travelers Insurance Company, Minneapolis as personnel manager for 22 years, until her marriage to Morgan Brandrup on August 5, 1972 at Mount Olivet Lutheran Church, Minneapolis. She was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Mankato and served the church on several boards and was a Circle member. She was active in P.E.O., Chapter U, where she served as treasurer for over 20 years. She was also a member of the Summit Center and the Does-Drove #169, Mankato.

Marie is survived by brothers-in-law, John Brandrup (Nancy) of Rochester, MN and Elmer "Gil" Gilbertson of Columbus, Ohio; nieces, Gail Quinn, Lynn Veeck, and Bonnie Gilbertson all of Ohio and Karen Holtan of Byron; nephews, David and Paul Brandrup of Rochester and more than 50 P.E.O. sisters.

Marie was preceded in death by her parents; step-father, Del Diellieu; husband, Morgan in 2004; and sister, Evelyn Gilbertson.
