Marion A. Hansen, age 89 of Mapleton, died Saturday, August 24, 2013 at the Mapleton Community Home.

Memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday August 31, 2013 at Bethel Baptist Church in Mankato with Pastor David Banfield officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery in Mapleton. Visitation will be held from 5 " 7 p.m., Friday at Mankato Mortuary and will continue one hour before the service at the church on Saturday.

Marion was born March 30, 1924 to Palmer and Dorothy (Argetsinger) Parsons in Vernon Center, Minnesota. She graduated from Mapleton High School. She was united in marriage to Harland Hansen on December 6, 1946 in Vernon Center, Minnesota. She was a homemaker for her family.

Marion attended Bethel Baptist Church in Mankato. She had many interests and hobbies, but what she loved most was sewing her beautiful quilts which she generously gave to so many different people. She enjoyed time spent with friends and family, and doing church activities, in particular knitting over a hundred pairs of children's mittens for missions each year.

Marion is survived by her two daughters, Connie (Darryl) Biehn Madison Lake, Peggy (Ron) Yeagle of Sleepy Eye; seven grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harland; two sisters, Audrey and Norma; brother, Fred.
