Charlene Joyce Gilman, age 74, of Lake Crystal, died Sunday, August 25, 2013 at Mayo Clinic Health System, Mankato.

Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, August 29, 2013 at Zion Lutheran Church, Lake Crystal with Rev. Debbie King Quale, officiating. Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m., Wednesday at Lake Crystal Mortuary and will continue one hour before service at the church on Thursday. Burial will be in Garden City Cemetery.

Charlene was born June 5, 1939 in Canon City, Colorado to Frank Ralph and Goldie Mae (Irwin) King. She graduated from high school in 1957 in southern California. Charlene married Charles L. Gilman on May 27, 1958 in Manitou Springs, Colorado. Charlene was a wife, mother, and homemaker for her family. She also worked at Carlson Craft and Young America. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Esther Circle, the Eastern Star, and the Yadsendew Neighbors Club. Charlene enjoyed gardening, canning, freezing, crafts, reading, music, spending time with her family and talking on the phone.

Charlene is survived by her husband of 55 years, Charles Gilman; five children, Louis (Kathleen) Gilman of St. Peter, Frank (Dawn) Gilman of Lake Crystal, Karen (Walt) Eisel of Alexandria, Charla (Troy "Ole") Smith, Kerry (Chris) Erickson all of Lake Crystal; 13 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren, Charles, Adam, Andrea, Jacquelyn and her daughter, Kendall, and Alex Gilman, Ashley (Mark) German and their children, Brie, Camden, and Gracie, Nathaniel (Anne) Marshall and their children, Daymon, Issac, and Aubree, Justin Gilman and special friend, Lauryn Schindler and Brandon Gilman, Amos Eisel and special friend, Shelby Fredericks-Survine, Jacob Eisel and fianc", Kayla Westwood and their son, Milton, Nicholas Smith and special friend, Carly Jo Schindler, and McKenzie Smith; brother, Frank R. King Jr. of Bakersfield, CA; two nieces, Dixie King of Bakersfield, CA and Linda (Bob) Kichline of Phoenix, AZ.

Charlene was preceded in death by her parents; infant sister, Karen Kay King; and infant grandson, Nathan Charles Gilman.
