Kenneth W. Johnson, age 84 of Mankato, died Sunday, August 18, 2013 at Pathstone Living in Mankato.

Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 23, 2013 at Northview " North Mankato Mortuary 2060 Commerce Drive, North Mankato, MN, with Rev. Greg Lenz officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Mankato. Visitation will be held from 5 " 7 p.m., Thursday at Northview " North Mankato Mortuary and continues one hour before the service on Friday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Mayo Clinic Health Systems - Hospice or Pathstone Living of Mankato.

Kenneth W. Johnson was born February 10, 1929 to Roy and Elsie (Lenning) Johnson in Fairmont, Minnesota. He graduated from Fairmont High School in 1947. Ken was united in marriage to Darlene Lavrence on April 24, 1951 in Ozark, AL. He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. After discharge from the Army Ken worked in various manufacturing jobs before retiring from Poly Foam in Lester Prairie, Minnesota.

Ken was a member of Resurrection Lutheran Church. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking, traveling, vacations with his family up north, and spending time with family.

Ken is survived by his three children, Cyndy (Pete) Marso of Good Thunder, MN, Mark (Gwenn) Johnson of Baudette, MN, Kris (Joe) Schumacher of Eagle Lake, MN; 12 grandchildren, Ryan (Amber), Katie, Laura (Andy), John (Robyn) Daniel (Erica) Drew, Sara (Jason), Amy (Nate), Carla (Aaron), Nate (Lindsey), Maribeth, Mitch; 13 great-grandchildren, Zoey, Lilly, Devon, Gage, Harley, Liam, Ethan, Joshua, Olivia, Breanna, Mackenzie, Avery, and Renee; two sisters, Doris (Bob) Nichols, AZ, Marilyn Johnson of North Mankato; nephew and two nieces.

Preceded in death by his parents, wife, Darlene in 2005, infant daughter, and grandson, David in 2011.
