Darwin J. Goodrich, age 80 of Mankato, died Saturday, August 10, 2013 at Monarch Meadows in North Mankato.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in North Mankato, with Rev. Peter Nosbush officiating. A visitation will be held from 4 " 8 p.m., with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, August 13, 2013 at Mankato Mortuary. Visitation will continue one hour before the service at church on Wednesday. Burial in Calvary Cemetery, Mankato. Memorials may be given to Holy Rosary Catholic Church or Mayo Clinic Health System Hospice Program.

Darwin John Goodrich was born February 13, 1933 to Burton and Mary (Paul) Goodrich in Easton, MN. He graduated from Delavan High School and later attended St. Mary's in Winona and the Mankato Commercial College. Darwin was united in marriage to Patricia Skorlinski on June 5, 1956 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Easton. He worked for Sears, the Star Tribune, Minneopa Concrete, Superior Concrete, Mankato Concrete, and Goodrich Construction. Darwin was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus and the Supper Club. He enjoyed woodworking, singing in choirs, bird watching, golfing and spending time with his family.

Darwin is survived by his wife, Pat Goodrich of Mankato; three children, Ron Goodrich of Mankato, Randy (Brenda) Goodrich of Mankato, and Mary (Tim) Wendinger of North Mankato; four brothers, Dean Goodrich of Mankato, LaVerne (Pat) Goodrich of Wells, Byron (Norma) Goodrich of North Mankato, and Gary (Shirley) Goodrich of Blue Earth; three sisters, Audrey (Jim) Esser of Mankato, Marjorie (Vince) Hanson of Des Moines, IA, Valerie Smith of North Mankato; and many nieces and nephews.

Darwin was preceded in death by his parents; infant daughter, Kathy; brother-in-law; sister-in-law; two nieces and one nephew.
