Dorothy Verna Seppman (Herrlich), age 89, went peacefully into the arms of Jesus on November 15, 2013. She is now reunited with her husband, Florian Seppman, baby girl, parents, Martin and Louise (Hohenstein) Herrlich, brother, Bernhard Herrlich, nephew, Dale Herrlich, and many other loved ones.
Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at 11:30 a.m. at the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd with Rev. Vance Becker officiating. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. at the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at Minneopa Cemetery following a luncheon at the church. Northview-North Mankato Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd and Lutheran Social Services.
Dorothy was born on May 8, 1924 to Martin and Louise of Rapidan. She was baptized, confirmed, and married at St. John's Lutheran Church in Rapidan. She graduated from high school in 1942 and then attended the Mankato Commercial College. Dorothy worked as a secretary and bookkeeper for many years at Hayes-Lucas Lumber Company in Mankato, later known as United Building Center. She was united in marriage to Florian Seppman on December 29, 1962 and they joined the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd in 1963. She enjoyed bowling, dancing, and picnics with friends and family. She and Florian along with their daughter traveled much of the US with their camper. She cared very much for the health and wellbeing of everyone she knew. Dorothy had a strong faith in the strength of the Lord and the power of prayer.
Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Carol and husband Timothy Risdal of Burnsville; three granddaughters, Megan Risdal of Raleigh, NC, Paige Risdal of Duluth; and Erin Risdal of Burnsville. She had a special place in her heart for her brother Bernhard's children after his untimely death and is survived by her niece, Karen (Herrlich) and husband Raymond Browning, their children and grandchildren, as well as her sisters and brothers-in-law and many other nieces and nephews.
