Joyce G. Ratcliff, age 93, of New Ulm and formerly of Lake Crystal died Monday, October 21, 2013 at Oak Hills Living Center, Assisted Living in New Ulm.

Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, October 24, 2013 at Oak Hills Living Center, Assisted Living, 1314 8th North Street in New Ulm. Visitation will be one hour before service on Thursday. Burial will be at a later date in Minneopa Cemetery, rural Mankato. Lake Crystal Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Joyce was born on July 2, 1920 in Butternut Township, Blue Earth County, to Ole and Emily (Torgerson) Evenson. She was the youngest of 8 children who grew up on the family farm. She attended rural schools in the Butternut area and was a lifelong member of Zion Lutheran Church in Lake Crystal.

Joyce is survived by her children, Bill Ratcliff (Andrea Erickson) of New Ulm, Terry (Jerry) Howard of Myrtle Creek, Oregon, Leslie Ratcliff of Mankato, and Steven (Colleen) Ratcliff of New Ulm; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, and her many friends at Oak Hills Assisted Living in New Ulm.

Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, Earl in February 1970; daughter-in-law, Tana Ratcliff in September 1995; siblings, Harry, Edna, Ella, Charles, Gordon, Oliver, and William.
