Obituary

Adam Michael Johnson, 49 of Eagle Lake, MN, died on Friday, July 17, 2026, at his home. A visitation will be held on Sunday, July 26th, from 4 to 8 PM at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Mankato, MN. A Celebration of Life will be held at the church on Monday, July 27th, and will begin at 11 AM, with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Inurnment at Eagle Lake Cemetery and luncheon at the church will immediately follow the service.

Adam was born May 15, 1977, to Timothy and Barbara (Van Brunt) Johnson, and grew up in Eagle Lake, MN. Adam attended Mankato Area Public Schools, graduating from Mankato East High School in 1995. He graduated from South Central College in 2012. He had been employed for the past 5 years at Harry Meyering Center in Mankato, most recently as a Program Manager. Adam had 3 children from a previous marriage, Brandi, Katlyn, and Michelle. He was united in marriage to Heidi Marie Bartelt on May 4, 2019. Together, they made their home in Eagle Lake. Adam was a proud former member of the Eagle Lake Fire Department and an active member of the Minnesota EMS Honor Guard, where he served both alongside his wife. He was also a member of the Red Knights Firefighter Motorcycle Club MN Chapter 8. He enjoyed motorcycle rides, and spending time with his friends and family, especially his grandson, Hudson Johnson.

Adam is lovingly remembered by his wife, Heidi Johnson of Eagle Lake, daughters Brandi Johnson (Travis Nelson) of Waseca, Katlyn Johnson of Eagle Lake, and Michelle Johnson of Waldorf, grandson, Hudson Johnson of Eagle Lake, mother, Barb Johnson of Eagle Lake, sister, Kim Johnson of Lake Crystal, step-children, Toby Sorensen of Mason City, IA, Michael Sorensen of North Mankato, and Ashtyn Sorensen (Ethan Tauber) of Nicollet, uncle and aunt, Frank and Lori Van Brunt of Oceanport, NJ, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Mike and Pam Bartelt of Mankato, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Aaron and Heidi Jo Bartelt of Lake Crystal, and many other family and friends.

Adam was preceded in death by his father, Timothy Johnson, and brother, David Johnson.
