Alan W. Peterson

Alan Walter Peterson, age 78, of Madison Lake, died peacefully during the night, in the comfort of his home on Thursday, September 15, 2022.

Funeral Mass will be Friday, September 23 at 11:00 a.m. at All Saints Catholic Church, Madison Lake.  Interment with Military Honors will be at Calvary Cemetery, Madison Lake, MN.  Visitation will be Thursday, September 22 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Northview – North Mankato Mortuary, 2060 Commerce Drive, North Mankato and will continue one hour prior to service at the church on Friday.

Al was born February 22, 1944, in Duluth MN to Walter and Edith (Jardine) Peterson. He graduated from Denfeld High School, Duluth 1962; enlisted in the U.S. Air Force serving from 1963-1969 as an Air Policeman. Al married Tanya Marienau in 1975. They made their home on beautiful Madison Lake where they raised 3 wonderful children. They later divorced.

Al worked at various Goldfines and Target locations. Over the last 31 years he worked at multiple Walmarts retiring in 2019. Al loved his family, socializing with his friends, fishing, boating, and relaxing on the lake. We will miss Al’s kind heart, stories, and smile.

Al is survived by daughter, Jen Beinke (Bob Shelton) Winnebago; sons, Clay Peterson (Kara) Northfield, and Chris Peterson (Maggie) Madison Lake; grandchildren, Hank & Nickolaus Beinke, Elsa & Soren Peterson, and Owen Peterson; sister, Ardyce (Sam) Pangerl, Spokane, WA; nephew, Michael Pangerl; and niece, Teri Jackson-Green WA; and many other beloved relatives and friends. 

Al was preceded in death by both parents, uncles, and aunts.
