Alice Jean Chapman

Alice J. Chapman, age 70, of Garden City, died Wednesday, May 12, 2021 at Mayo Clinic Health System. 

A memorial visitation celebrating her life will be held from 3-7pm Sunday, May 30, 2021 at the Wellcome Memorial Community Room in Garden City. Mankato Mortuary assisted with the arrangements.

Alice was born July 16, 1950 to Herbert and Sylvia (Gustafson) Reinhart in Alton Township, MN. She married Bobby J. Chapman in 1970. She worked at the Countryside Cafe, Garden City Post Office, and for many years as a Domestic Engineer. She enjoyed gardening, fishing, telling jokes and gathering with friends and family.

Alice is survived by her daughter, Gerry (Mike) Stewig of Good Thunder, MN; grandchildren, Benjamin (Emily Mae) Stewig and Theodore Stewig; sister, Betty (Dane) Reinhart; step-son, Jim (Pam) Chapman of Sun Prairie, WI; step-grandchildren, Zack (Victoria), Abby, Nick (Amanda), Sam, and Jessica; as well as many step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
