Born into the arms of Jesus

"Before I formed you in the womb I knew you…" Jeremiah 1:5.

Our precious little boy, Anastasius Jeremy Costello, was born sleeping in Jesus’ arms on November 1, 2026 at Mayo Clinic Health System Mankato. Though he did not draw breath on this earth, his life is a profound gift that has changed our hearts forever. We held him and showered him with a lifetime of love in the precious hours we shared.

Anastasius (whose name means “Resurrection”) is deeply cherished by his parents, Jeremy and Rachel, his sisters, Ruth, Hannah, and Margaret, his brothers, John and James, his grandparents, Greg and Janet Costello and Roger and Anne Fehr, his great-grandmothers, Charlotte Nelson and Lois Fehr, many cousins, aunts and uncles and a loving extended family. We rest in the comforting promise of Christ that we will hold him again in eternity (2 Samuel 12:22-23).

Visitation will be held at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in North Mankato on Friday, November 6 beginning at 3:30 p.m. with Funeral Service at 4:00 pm led by Pastor LeRoy LaPlant. Committal will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” Matthew 19:14.
