Ann was born on August 16, 1938, in Madison, MN to Albert and Edna Erickson.  She was baptized in the Lutheran faith and confirmed at First Lutheran Church of Madison.   Ann attended Madison schools and graduated in 1956.  She graduated from Mankato State College in 1960.

Ann was a social worker from 1961 to 1968.  She married Donald Blasing on August 16, 1968, and moved to Lake Crystal.  She adopted Don’s two children (Becky and Chad) and in 1970 Eric was born.  Ann spent time volunteering for girl scouts and cub scout programs in the Lake Crystal area and served two 4-year terms for the Lake Crystal City Council in the 1980s.  Ann was employed as LCWM Community Education Director for several years before retiring in 2002.

She loved to garden with her husband, Don, where she found happiness.  She enjoyed pfeffer nights at the Legion with her special friend, Walter. She loved to play Scrabble, especially the competitive games with granddaughter, Brianna, playing cards, and her jigsaw puzzles. She always laughed after a battle of wits with grandson, Joshua. Ann enjoyed watching her granddaughter, Paige, play sports, and trips to Arizona to visit her grandsons Zachary, Connor, and Seth, where she would proudly announce that she too had red hair when she was young.

Ann is survived by her children, Rebecca (Todd) Sittig, Chad Blasing, and Eric (Stephanie) Blasing; grandchildren, Joshua (Alexis) Sittig, Brianna (Kevin) Glass, Paige Sittig, Zachary, Connor, and Seth Blasing; great-grandchildren, Lilly and Helaina Glass and Bronson and Bristol Sittig; brother-in-law, Paul Blasing and sister-in-law, Pam Erickson.
