Anthony Schmitz

Anthony Ray Schmitz, Sr., 66, of Madison Lake, died August 1, 2022 at his home.

A visitation will take place from 4-7 p.m., Thursday, August 4, 2022 at Northview-North Mankato Mortuary, 2060 Commerce Dr., in North Mankato. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Private burial will take place at Pilgrims Rest Cemetery at a later date.

Tony was born March 16, 1956 to Raymond and Sophia (Mons) Schmitz in New Ulm, Minnesota. He graduated from Mankato East High School in 1974. For over 31 years, Tony spent most of his life with his true love, Dianne.

Tony retired from Spartech Plastics in Mankato after 18 years. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, grilling, thrifting, and especially spending time with his grandchildren.

Tony is survived by his wife, Dianne; children, Amber (Alec) Smith, Brandon Sprenger, and Tyler (Courtney) Schmitz; grandchildren, Tristan, Jameson, Scarlett, Aubrey, Brycen, Cameron, Ava, Keegan, Peyton, Avery, Rosalie, and Everly; niece, Sondra; nephew, Travis; and mother-in-law, Edith Murilla.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Becky; and father-in-law, Joseph Murilla, Sr.
