April Kay (Borge) Sullivan

April Kay (Borge) Sullivan, aged 45, passed away on July 24, 2026, at the Rochester Mayo Hospital—St. Mary's Campus, due to a serious head injury which was complicated by a recent relapse with alcoholism. She was born on September 11, 1980 to Steven and Debra Borge in Mission Hills, CA. At the age of 8, April moved with her family to Albert Lea, MN. April graduated from Albert Lea High school in 1999. In high school April was very involved in choir, basketball and softball.

April's career included management roles at Home Depot and Lowes, HyVee, and most recently, she worked for Creative Ad Solutions, North Mankato. Her dedication extended beyond her professional life as she had volunteered with Habitat for Humanity.

April had a deep love for singing, basketball, game shows, board games, and celebrating North Mankato community events. She was passionate about cooking and cherished time with her family and her beloved dog, Sully. April was creative, artistically talented, and loved the challenge of a home repair. Known for her sociable nature, she was always ready to lend a hand and an encouraging word.

She is survived by her parents, Steven and Debra of North Mankato; brother, Chris, and his wife Sarah Borge of Mankato; nephew, Joel Borge; her dog Sully; dear friends Darcy Busch, Miranda Dietrich, Gretchen Bastyr, and Tracy Brenegan; and her aunts and uncles, John and Sue Ausen, of Flint, MI, Charles and Geneva Ausen, of Andover, MN, Michael and Emma Ausen of Round Rock, TX, Daniel and Dawn Ausen of Lakeville, MN, William and Marilyn Robran of Hartland, MN, and numerous cousins. April was preceded in death by her significant other, Roger Oachs, her grandparents Robert and Ruth Borge, Edgar and Doris Ausen, and cousin Jason Robran.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to the medical staff at Rochester Mayo Hospital—St. Mary’s Campus, her pastor friends Mike and Ronda Gerhardt, and all those who supported her throughout the years.

Celebration of Life will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 15, 2026 at Cleveland Church of Christ, 900 State Hwy 99, Cleveland, MN 56017. Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m., Friday, August 14, 2026 and one hour prior to the service on Saturday all at the church. Pastor Rob Perry will officiate and a private family burial will be at a later date at Freeborn Lutheran Cemetery in Hartland, MN. Arrangements are entrusted to Mankato Mortuary.
