Arnold James Ranum

Arnold James Ranum, 81, passed away April 5, 2025 at The Pillars of Mankato.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00am, April 26, 2025, at Northview - North Mankato Mortuary. Visitation will be from 10am-11am. Burial and Military honors to follow the service at Calvary Cemetery. Service will be livestreamed at www.mankatomortuary.com

Arnold was born May 27, 1943 in Tyler, MN to Julius and Minnie (Johnson) Ranum. He grew up on the family farm in Chandler, MN where he graduated from High School. He was drafted into the Navy and was stationed in Japan during the Vietnam War. Arnold was united in marriage to Carol J. Paul on November 7, 1970 in Eden Valley, MN. He worked at the Windom Post Office and then the Mankato Post Office until he retired. Arnold loved to watch baseball and football, and especially liked supporting the local college teams and the Mankato Moondogs. He loved riding his motorcycle and taking road trips with his family. Most of all, he loved people. He loved jokes, hugs, socializing with others, and lending a helping hand.

Arnold is survived by his daughter Melissa, grandson Brandon, great grandson Vincent, brother Gary and sister Carol, and many other family members.

He is preceded in death by his wife Carol Ranum, son Michael, and his parents.
