Audrey Ann Johnson

Audrey Ann (Meixell) Johnson passed away at Quiet Oaks Hospice House in St. Cloud, MN at the age of 91 on July 18, 2026, surrounded by her family. 
She was born at home in Blue Earth County, MN on October 16, 1934, to William and Reba (Clark) Meixell. She attended a one-room country schoolhouse, graduated from Lake Crystal High School in 1952, and attended Mankato State Teacher’s College as a Home Economics major. Audrey was united in marriage to Lee Rudie Johnson on December 26, 1954, marking the beginning of a 71-year union, to which four children were born, Debra, Dennis, Susan, and Jennifer. 
Audrey was a homemaker, life-long member of Lake Crystal/Cornerstone UMC, Sunday school teacher, member and chair of the missions committee, United Methodist Women and Circle member, volunteer and leader of multiple community organizations, and Lake Crystal School District, especially, Band Boosters and PTA. She lovingly shared her gifts of baking, cooking, gardening, and sewing. 
Audrey is survived by her husband, Lee, children Debra Groth (Marvin), Dennis, Susan Bowe (James), and Jennifer Gannon (Dean), nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, beloved siblings Dean Meixell (Sandra), Carol Hauch, and Roy Meixell (Lynn). 
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Janet, brother-in-law, Dale Hauch, and sisters-in-law, Marian Meixell, Ruby Sherwood, and Charlotte Johnson. 
Celebration of Life will be held at 10:30 a.m., preceded by visitation at 9:30 a.m., both at Cornerstone UMC in Lake Crystal on Friday, July 24. Internment for family members at Lake Crystal Cemetery immediately after service, followed by a luncheon at Cornerstone UMC for all. 
Memorials preferred over flowers to Quiet Oaks Hospice House (www.quietoakshospicehouse.org) or Cornerstone UMC Sunday School program.
