Barbara (Jeanne) Morales

Barbara “Jeanne” Morales, 81, passed away Saturday, October 7, 2023 at Ecumen Pathstone Living in Mankato after a long battle with Alzheimer’s.

A celebration of Jeanne’s life will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Saturday October 21, 2023  at Mankato Mortuary, 1001 N Riverfront Dr, Mankato, MN 56001.

Barbara Jeanne Hicks was born on June 6, 1942, in Mt. Carmel, IL to Robert and Mary Hicks.

On December 16, 1961, Jeanne was united in marriage to Larry Morales in Mt. Carmel. The couple traveled around the country while Larry was working as an installer for GTE Automatic Electric. The couple made their home in Mankato, MN in 1965 and were blessed with two children, Tim and Michele. Jeanne worked several different jobs over the years but primarily enjoyed taking care of the household and supporting the many activities her children were involved in.

Jeanne enjoyed bowling, playing softball and playing cards with friends and family.  Jeanne was a member of the 200 Club at Victory Bowl during her bowling years and was also a member of the Mankato Area Softball Association Hall of Fame. Jeanne and Larry continued to live in Mankato and enjoyed retirement living in Arizona during the winter months for over 20 years. Jeanne especially valued her many “girl trips” with her friends to Mexico and South America. Jeanne and Larry traveled throughout the United States on many motorcycle trips over the years.

Jeanne is survived by her husband, Larry; children, Tim (Amy) Morales, and Michele (Dale) Bednarek; grandchildren, Trevor (Nicole) Morales, Sydney Morales, and Geneva Morales; great-grandchildren Franklin Morales and Max Morales.

Jeanne was proceeded in death by her parents and her brothers Jeff and Larry.
