Brian Fishel

Brian Patrick Fishel, 63, of Mankato, passed away December 14, 2022 at home.

Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 20, 2022 at Northview-North Mankato Mortuary, 2060 Commerce Dr., in North Mankato with visitation one hour prior to the service. A private burial will take place at a later date at Calvary Cemetery in Mankato.

Brian was born August 7, 1959 to Dean and Mary (Wilt) Fishel in Olivia, Minnesota. He graduated from Storden-Jeffers High School in 1977. On August 21, 2017, he married the love of his life, Becky. Brian worked as a truck driver for 40 years.

Brian was a natural athlete, playing high school football and later racquetball, softball, and volleyball. He enjoyed watching sports, especially the NFL, college football, and as well as MLB. Brian also enjoyed gardening, working in the yard in the summer and fall, home improvement projects in the winter, and tinkering in his garage. He is favorite place to visit was the north shore.

Brian is survived by his wife, Becky Zacharias; children, Matt (Tammy) Fishel, Lucas Fishel, and Samantha (Zack Olecke) Fishel; stepchildren, Peter Johnston, Susan (Patrick Mcinernie) Johnston, and Mindy (Aaron Burzynski) Johnston; grandchildren, Jackson, Evelyn, and Alexis; stepgrandchildren, Matthew, Joey, Trevor, and Brayden; parents, Dean and Mary Fishel; and siblings, Michael, Mark, Barbara (Kent) Brodsho, and Paul (Tammy) Fishel.

Brian was preceded in death by his infant son, Joseph and stepdaughter, Patti.
