Carol Edora Volness (Lien)

September 21, 1929 — March 19, 2026

Lake Crystal

Carol Edora Volness (Lien), age 96, passed away on March 19, 2026, at her home in Faribault, Minnesota, surrounded by family.

Carol was born on September 21, 1929, in Halstad, Minnesota. She was a longtime resident of Lake Crystal, Minnesota, where she and her husband, Robert Jennings Volness, established their home, business and raised their family. Robert preceded her in death.

Carol lived an engaged and grounded life. Her family was central to her, and she remained closely involved with her children and grandchildren throughout her life. She was attentive, dependable, and steady, offering unwavering support and presence to those she loved.

She is survived by her three daughters: Cheryl (Dean) Ramsey, Gloria (Rob) Lee, and Lynn Volness, as well as by her grandchildren and great‑grandchildren: Andy (Amy) Lee, parents to Olivia and Addison; Eric (Thomas) Lee; Robert (Amber) Ramsey, parents to Gavin, Reagan, Kinnick, Micah, and Leighton; and Rebecca (MacKenzie) Ramsey, parents to Kamdyn and Kinzley.

Carol and Robert shared a life built on mutual respect and devotion. Theirs was a lifelong partnership marked by loyalty, shared purpose, and enduring affection, each supporting the other in ways that reflected a deep commitment to family and to one another.

Carol expressed care through attentiveness and hospitality, particularly her love of cooking. Family gatherings often included card games, where her familiar refrain—“Wait now, wait now”—became a lasting family expression.

Carol’s values were evident in how she lived rather than how she spoke. She carried herself with humility, consistency, and quiet confidence, content in the life she lived and the choices she made. She took satisfaction in seeing her family grow and do well, remaining present and engaged with them throughout her life.

In keeping with her wishes, services will be held privately.

Carol Edora — your family will always adore you.
