Casie Jo Reiner, 41, of Mankato, Minnesota, died of natural causes on April 12th, 2025.
Casie was born October 27, 1983 to Kenneth and Brenda (Mastel) Reiner in Ashley, ND. Casie grew up in Zeeland and Strasburg, ND where she graduated from Strasburg Public School. She went on to attend VCSU and later transferred to NDSU earning both a Bachelor’s degree in Education and Psychology. Embracing her love for books and academia, she went on to obtain her Masters in Library and Information Science through San Jose State University. She worked at various libraries including NDSU, University of South Carolina, and most recently TDS Library Co-op.
While at NDSU, she met the love of her life, Branden Kloos. She and Branden welcomed their pride and joy, Mika Brynn, to the world on May 18, 2007. Above all else, Casie was a loving and devoted mom. Mika will carry her mother’s easy-going personality, genuine kindness, and ability to light up a room with her infectious smile and laugh.
Casie had a passion for baking, woodworking, tinkering, and managing several projects at once. She was known for her mini cheesecakes and love for all things Aldi and Menard’s. Casie will be remembered for being generous, quippy, crafty, and making everyone she met feel included and at home. She was a shining light wherever she went, and we will continue to feel her presence in small acts of kindness.
She is survived by her daughter, Mika; life partner, Branden; and dog, Bucky; parents, Kenneth and Brenda Reiner; siblings, Matthew (Erica), Josie (Luke), Bailey (Kenny), and Dillon (Tori); Branden’s parents Charles and Vicky Kloos and siblings, Chuck (Shannon), Lindsey (Erik), Emma (Brandon); and numerous nieces and nephews who will miss their Aunt Casie dearly.
She was welcomed in Heaven by her grandparents, Marvin and Delores Reiner and Kasmer and Theresa Mastel; Special great-uncles, Orch and Fudd; uncle, Francis Mastel; and cousin, Lynette Bosch.
