Charles William Rowen (Chuck) was born January 20th, 1943, in Des Moines, Iowa and passed away on January 11th in Mankato, Minnesota at the age of 82.
Chuck described his life with these words: “After high school I joined the U.S. Army and served 3 years active and 3 years inactive reserve. When I got home from the Army, I got a job in a factory and worked there 2 years until I got a job with a vending company. Most all of my working years I worked for a vending company and was a service tech that would go from place to place and fix vending machines. Thru the years I was interested in photography, model railroading, wood working and playing the banjo. After I retired, I started a small company making pens. I sold my pens at craft shows and made sure all of my family and friends had one of my pens.”
Chuck is preceded in death by his father Charles Hamilton Rowen, mother June Hoch, stepfather Adolph Hoch, and brother Larry Rowen. He is survived by his brother Randy Hoch, daughter Tammy Palmer, sons Perry and Vernon Rowen, and grandchildren Hailey, Luke, and Cole Rowen and Mae Palmer.
