Clayton Wolf, age 81, of North Mankato, died on April 4, 2023, surrounded by family after a battle with cancer.
Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 22, 2023, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Mankato. Visitation will start at 9:30 a.m. until time of service.
Clayton was born on July 18, 1941 in St. Peter, Minnesota. He graduated from Cleveland High School in 1959 and Mankato State University in 1963 with a Bachelor of Science degree. He completed a Master of Music degree in 1971. While in college, he took part in a USO tour in the Far East to perform in the musical Guys and Dolls. He taught music education in Karlstad, Elmore, Redwood Falls and Morgan. He also taught private piano lesson to 100s of students over 60 years, continuing until 4 weeks prior to his passing. While teaching in Elmore, he met LaVonne Eichhorn and they were married in 1972. In 1973, they moved to Redwood Falls where they stayed until they moved to Mankato in 2003. He enjoyed many years of waitering at numerous restaurants, attending Arabian horse shows, playing cards, and displaying his beloved Snow Village.
Clayton is survived by his wife, LaVonne; daughters, Sheri (Brad) Larson, Alice (Ed) Lee, and Natalie (Tom) Tetrick; brother, Myron (Leanne) Wolf; sister, Anita (Dennis) Darnell; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Clayton was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, John; and his in-laws, Otto and Mary Richter.
