Connie Rae Freeberg

Constance “Connie” Rae Freeberg, age 80, of Mankato, died Thursday, March 19, 2026 at Pheasants Ridge in St. Peter.

Funeral service will be held at 2pm, Friday, March 27, 2026 at Northview-North Mankato Mortuary with visitation one hour prior. Burial will follow at Minneopa Cemetery.

Connie was born March 13, 1946 in Mankato to Vernon and Shirley (Miller) Kranz. She was united in marriage to William “Bill” Freeberg on January 16, 1971 in Mankato, and they were blessed with two sons, Chad and Ryan.

She is survived by her husband, William Freeberg of Mankato; sons, Chad (Brandi) Freeberg of Neola, IA and Ryan (Juli) Freeberg of Burnsville; grandchildren, Makenzee, Bryson, Brecken, Brant, Lydia, and Ella Freeberg; great-grandson, Rhett Wallingford; sisters, Caron Cheney, Carol (Roger) Twait, and Cathie (Bill) Bateman; and sisters-in-law, Roxy (Ed) Johnson, Susan Freeberg, and Barbara (Dennis) VanGuilder.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Vernon and Shirley Kranz; brothers-in-law, Mike Cheney and Robert Freeberg, Jr.; great-grandson, Benjamin Freeberg; and parents-in-law, Robert and Rosemary Freeberg.
