Curtis J. Kopp, age 82, of Madison Lake, died on Monday, June 5, 2023 at his home.
Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, June 10, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. at All Saints Catholic Church, Madison Lake. Visitation will be Friday, June 9 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Northview-North Mankato Mortuary and will continue one hour prior to the service at church. Burial with military honors will be at Calvary Cemetery, Madison Lake.
Curtis was born on March 6, 1941 in Mankato to John and Helen (Reintjes) Kopp. He graduated from Loyola High School. Curt served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. On September 11, 1965, Curt was united in marriage to Mary Hoehn. He worked at Schwickert’s before starting his own business, Kopp Plumbing in 1976. He valued and took care of his customers until his death. Curt loved fishing with his family, especially his grandson. He would then clean and prepare the catch for his granddaughter. He would never miss following his grandchildren’s activities. Curt enjoyed restoring old cars and watching NASCAR. He was a member of the Madison Lake American Legion, All Saints Catholic Church, and the Madison Lake Jackpot Club. Curt always had a nickname for everyone.
Curt is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Kopp (Ron Bozich) of Lakeville; son, Dan (Ronda) Kopp of Elysian; grandchildren, Holly Bozich and Jackson Kopp; sister, Margaret Derner; and many other extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mary in 1997; and brother, Kenny Kopp.
