Dann “Boomer” Joseph Reichel, age 74, of North Mankato, passed away Wednesday, October 7, 2026. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 19, 2026, at Northview–North Mankato Mortuary. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service.

Boom was born May 4, 1952, to Curtis “Growler” and Laverne (Wild) Reichel in Mankato. He graduated from Mankato High School.

Boomer was a man of few words who appreciated the simple things in life. A pipefitter by trade, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, watching his favorite shows, and a good game of cribbage with an Old Milwaukee beer close by. He was happiest enjoying the quiet comforts of home, often at his kitchen table, where there were always two chairs—one for him and one for his beloved Eileen.

Boomer married his high school sweetheart and soulmate, Eileen, on September 25, 1971, at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Mankato, MN. He felt her passing in March, 2025 deeply. Their love remained an important part of his life.

Boomer is survived by his son Ben (Jennifer) Reichel; grandchildren Ethan, Addi, Sydne, and Ellie Reichel; his brothers, Brad (Mary Kick), Gary (Cherryl), and Todd Reichel; sisters, Jane Carlson, Rita (Brian) Amundson and Mona (Wade Seadlund) Wacholz; and many other Reichel and Allen family members and friends.

Boomer was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Eileen (Allen) Reichel in 2025; son, Daniel Reichel in 2016; brother, Mark Reichel; and extended family.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
