Darlene Mae Sharp, age 95, of Amboy, MN passed away on June 28, 2025.

Visitation will be 9:30AM-11:00AM followed by a church service at 11:00AM, to be held Thursday, July 3, 2025 at the First Presbyterian Church in Amboy, MN. Burial will be in Sterling Cemetery, Mapleton. The family requests memorials to the First Presbyterian Church in Amboy or the Sterling Cemetery in Mapleton. Northview – North Mankato Mortuary is assisting the family with arrangements.

Darlene was born July 20, 1929 on her grandparent’s farm located in Vernon Center township. She graduated from Garden City high school in Garden City, MN. On September 16, 1950, Darlene was united in marriage to Robert Lee Sharp from Mapleton, MN. Following their marriage, they began farming in Sterling Township. Darlene was the bookkeeper for the farm. She also raised chickens, sold eggs, and grew a huge vegetable garden that provided for her family. Bob and Darlene were blessed with three children.

Darlene was one of the oldest members of the First Presbyterian Church in Amboy where she enjoyed fellowship and was a long-time member of the Presbyterian Women’s association. She was also a member of the Sterling Study Club and helped in fund raising events for the Sterling Cemetery. In 1975 Darlene made her first quilt for her first grandchild. She perfected her quilting skills over the years and spent her winters making quilts, table runners, and wall hangings for all of her children, grandchildren, and church. Apart from her family, Darlene’s greatest love was her flower, vegetable and berry gardens. She tended those gardens for 74 years.

Family left to cherish memories of Darlene are daughters, Becky (Jerry) Will, and Deb Bergstralh; son, Jerry (Loni) Sharp; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brother, Dale Fleming; sister-in-law, Kathy Fleming, cousin Carol DeWitz, and many nieces and nephews.

Darlene was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Sharp; parents, Albert and Bessie Fleming; brother, Bob Fleming; sister-in-law, Connie Fleming, and son-in-law Eric Bergstralh.
