Daryl "Bo" Roy Anderson, age 82, of Mankato passed away on May 13, 2026. A Celebration of Life will be held from 2-6 p.m., on Sunday, May 31, 2026 inside the clubhouse at Terrace View Golf Course - 19304 State Hwy 22 Mankato, Minnesota 56001.
Daryl was born December 4, 1943 in Lake city, IA to Roy and Ella Anderson. He graduated in 1962 from Rockwell City High School where he was Senior Class President, Captain of the varsity basketball team and was honored with the Citizenship Award. After high school, he met the love of his life, Ann DeVries, while attending Morningside College in Sioux City, IA. Daryl and Ann were united in marriage on April, 25, 1965. They owned and operated the Monarch Steakhouse in Renner, SD for many years. During that time they were blessed with the birth of their daughter, Angela Lyn in 1977. After they sold the steakhouse, Daryl worked in the food and bakery sales industry before eventually retiring from General Mills.
He enjoyed listening to old hymns and gospel music, especially The Gaithers. After traditional retirement, he continued to work part time for enjoyment, utilizing his passion for the bakery industry. In his retirement years he enjoyed spending time with his family and playing many, many rounds of golf every week with his wonderful friends in Waseca and Janesville. Daryl left a lasting imprint on everyone who knew him.
In his later years, he was lovingly referred to as “Papa” by so many who knew him. This was the title he loved the most as it began with his granddaughters, Ashlee and Anna, whom he was so proud of.
Those left to cherish Daryl’s memory are his daughter, Angela (James) Schramm; grandchildren, Ashlee Schramm (Matthew Theis), and Anna Schramm (Logan Ruschmeyer); siblings, Dennis (Karen) Anderson, Renee Kliegl, Ronald (Lou) Anderson, June (Jerry) McGowan, Gleni (Jerry) Howard, Melissa (Mike) Maher; brother-in-law, Bob Morton; sister in law, Paulette; Goddaughters, Kimberlee LaGrange, and Holly Kasten, as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Daryl was preceded in death by his wife and love of his life, Ann; parents, Roy and Ella Anderson; sister, Swede Morton; niece, Anita Morton and nephew, Bill Morton; brothers in law, Ted DeVries and Steve Connell; Sister in law, Sharon DeVries and Great-nephew Michael Kommes.
